So recently me and my mum’s friend’s daughter (she’s not quite a friend) both started liking the same guy

And to be honest I wouldn’t even mind if they do go out, it’s just I really care about him. And I honestly believe that this girl does not love him. She just loves the idea of wanting something pretty and getting it. 

I, on the other hand, want to be his friend. We have loads of things in common so I just want to show him loads of things and have good times with him. I want to be one of those people who are best friends and then one day the lighting is right and he looks in my eyes and sees something he didn’t before and just kisses me. Because he’s always liked me, he just doesn’t want to ruin our great friendship.

And I really feel that there are some underlying feelings. Now, I know what you’re thinking - I’m just disillusioning myself. But everybody told me that we both liked each other a few years ago, he told me he’s happy I’m talking to him again and he ended one of my facebook messages with 4 kisses, the next with 3. The thing is, guys don’t realise the control they have over us, it could mean nothing…

…but it could mean everything.
